Postpartum Doula Training prepares participants to provide practical, informational, and emotional support to families following childbirth. It focuses on maternal recovery, newborn care, family adjustment, and everyday support during the early weeks of parenthood.
A healthcare background may not be necessary, as postpartum doula support is generally non-medical. The course is suitable for beginners and interested caregivers, subject to Nurse Tech Skills Center's admission requirements.
You will learn about postpartum recovery, newborn care, feeding support, safe sleep, emotional well-being, family support, and recognizing situations that require referral to a qualified healthcare professional.
A postpartum doula provides non-medical support and does not replace a doctor, nurse, or midwife. Medical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and clinical procedures must be performed by appropriately qualified and authorized healthcare professionals.
